Softball Recap: North Sanpete Now 9-1 over Last Ten Games

16 must be North Sanpete's lucky number: they beat Delta with that score not once but twice on Friday. The Hawks blew past the Rabbits 16-3. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won eight games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Annie Madsen tossed a big game, tossing 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.

On the hitting side, Mylee Cook and Shea Rawlinson did most of the damage at the plate: Cook scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Rawlinson scored two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs Rawlinson has posted since back in March. Autumn Oldroyd was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

North Sanpete always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .611. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.

North Sanpete is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Delta, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-17.

Coming up, North Sanpete will take on Maple Mountain in a tournament on Saturday. The Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Eagles have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season. As for Delta, they will be playing at home against Emery at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
