Baseball Game Preview: West Morgan Rebels vs. Good Hope Raiders

For the second straight game, West Morgan will face off against Good Hope. The Rebels will square off against the Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Tuesday, West Morgan sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 victory over Good Hope.

West Morgan got a great performance from Maddox Maples as he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. The dominant performance also gave Maples a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

On the hitting side, Carter Stephens was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. West Morgan is undefeated when Stephens posts two or more runs, but 6-12 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Titan Partlow, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

West Morgan has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-12 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Good Hope, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-6.
