Basketball Recap: Summit Christian Academy Takes a Loss

If Summit Christian Academy was feeling good fresh off their 63-32 takedown of Harrisonville on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Summit Christian Academy Eagles came up short against the Logan-Rogersville Wildcats on Friday, falling 59-33. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Summit Christian Academy lost, don't look at Mike Thomas III. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 boards. What's more, Thomas III also racked up six blocks, the most he's had since back in January. Another player making a difference was Max Rieger, who posted 15 points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Summit Christian Academy fell to 2-1. As for Logan-Rogersville, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Summit Christian Academy Eagles duke it out with the Greenwood Blue Jays at 2:30 p.m. on December 14th. As for Logan-Rogersville, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Thayer at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th.
