Volleyball Recap: Lane Tech Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Lane Tech can now relate to. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Glenbrook South Titans on Thursday. The Champions haven't had much luck with the Titans recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Glenbrook South scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-17.

Sophia Polec paced Lane Tech's offense, picking up seven kills. Polec got some help from Amelie Patterson and her 14 assists. Abigail Graff controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Glenbrook South was led to victory by Annie Rosinski and Patty Stepek. Rosinski had 25 assists and three digs, while Stepek had six digs and two aces. That's the most aces Stepek has posted over her last 13 matchups.

Lane Tech's loss dropped their record down to 22-15. As for Glenbrook South, they pushed their record up to 28-7 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Lane Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Glenbrook South, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against DePaul College Prep on the 4th.
