The Elkhorn Antlers will take on the Gretna Dragons at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Elkhorn is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.3 goals per game this season.

Elkhorn is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nebraska's top teams: Blair, who was ranked third at the time (Elkhorn was ranked seventh). The Antlers came up short against the Bears on Monday, falling 4-1. Elkhorn have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Their goal came courtesy of Brooke Gritten, who's now up to seven this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gretna). Their defense stepped up to hand Lincoln Northwest a 4-0 shutout on Monday. The high-scoring effort was just what Gretna needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Gretna's win ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 5-7. As for Elkhorn, their loss dropped their record down to 10-3.

Elkhorn beat Gretna by a goal in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, winning 3-2. Will the Antlers repeat their success, or do the Dragons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
