Basketball Recap: Mississippi Valley Christian Warriors vs. Liberty Christian Academy Eagles
Mississippi Valley Christian lost against Liberty Christian Academy back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mississippi Valley Christian Warriors took a 57-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Liberty Christian Academy Eagles. The Warriors were down 49-28 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carter Hickerson, who posted 15 points. Gray Sapp was another key player, putting up 14 points.
Leading Liberty Christian Academy to victory were Tommy Meyer and Willy Mueller. Meyer scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and six blocks, while Mueller dropped a double-double on 15 points and 17 boards. Meyer continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Clinton Queen, who earned ten points and four steals.
Mississippi Valley Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Liberty Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.
