Baseball Recap: Bruce Takes a Loss

Bruce was the 4-3 winner over Ingomar when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Trojans fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 7-6 on Tuesday.

Jayden McCormick and RJ Bennett stepped up to the plate in a big way. McCormick scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Bennett got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI. McCormick has become a key player for Bruce: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Cole Clark, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Bruce's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Ingomar, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-3-1.

While Bruce had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
