Basketball Recap: Briggs Comes Up Short

Briggs extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-11. They were beaten by the Eastmoor Academy Warriors 82-36. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bruins of the 71-36 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2025.

As for Eastmoor Academy, their win bumped their record up to 4-7. That 46-point margin sets a new team best for them this season.

Stephon Simpkin was his usual excellent self, shooting 86% from the field on his way to 31 points along with six assists and six boards. Another player making a difference was Dekar Moultrie, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Briggs is set to face off against their familiar foe Independence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Eastmoor Academy will take on rival Marion-Franklin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
