Valley View has gone 8-2 against Oakwood recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Spartans will venture away from home to take on the Lumberjacks at 5:00 p.m. Valley View is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.

On Thursday, Valley View came up short against Carlisle and fell 10-5.

Emily Woodward was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. Megan Coleman was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Oakwood hadn't done well against Valley View recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Lumberjacks put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 10-3 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Lumberjacks considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Claire Ferra spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Isa Dunlap, who went 3-for-5 with four runs, one triple, and one double. Another player making a difference was Reed Archdeacon, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.

With the win, Oakwood broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-10. As for Valley View, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10-1.

Valley View might still be hurting after the 10-3 loss they got from Oakwood in their previous matchup on Wednesday. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
