Basketball Game Preview: Burrillville Broncos vs. Tiverton Tigers

Burrillville is 1-7 against Tiverton since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Burrillville Broncos will welcome the Tiverton Tigers at 6:30 p.m. Burrillville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.9 points per game this season.

Burrillville is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Coventry, who was ranked 20th at the time (Burrillville was ranked 14th). Burrillville took their match on Thursday with ease, bagging a 62-33 win over Coventry. The Broncos have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 20 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Logan Gelinas, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Kafalas, who posted 12 points.

Meanwhile, Tiverton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 56-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Toll Gate. While the Tigers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Titans 16-8 in the first quarter.

Burrillville's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Tiverton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-13-1.

Burrillville took their win against Tiverton when the teams last played back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 56-36. Will Burrillville repeat their success, or does Tiverton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
