The Rocklin Thunder will venture away from home to take on the West Park Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Saturday, Rocklin beat Reno 5-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Thunder.
Daniel Panteloglow looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024.
At the plate, Colby Pudge was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last match, West Park made sure to put some runs up on the board against Yuba City on Wednesday. West Park was the clear victors by a 13-4 margin over Yuba City.
Caleb Peck made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Peck was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ayden Deome, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. He also put up two doubles, which were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Christopher Fisher, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
West Park kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.
Rocklin now has a winning record of 2-1. As for West Park, their record now sits at 4-2.
West Park's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Rocklin has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 11.7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for West Park, though, as they've been averaging only 3.5 strikeouts. Will Rocklin keep running through batters, or will West Park buck the trend?
Rocklin skirted past West Park 4-3 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Will Rocklin repeat their success, or does West Park have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
