League recap: North Florida Christian tops Jefferson County to extend winning streak

North Florida Christian extended the longest winning streak in 2A District 1 this week by beating Jefferson County, 45-12. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.

Florida A&M moved up to 449 from 488 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Rattlers climbed the ranks as a result of besting Maclay 24-19.

North Florida Christian's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Justin Moore threw for 226 and 3 touchdowns and Jakari Allen had 116 yards receiving. On the ground Jonathan Vickers contributed 40 yards. Christian Philpott helped North Florida Christian's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 59 yards.

Vickers was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 40 yards on 5 carries as Robert Craft's team topped the Tigers. Joey Giaritelli also contributed to the rushing game with 39 yards on the ground.

North Florida Christian's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Eagles feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Moore has thrown for 755 yards and 8 touchdowns this season, while Allen has 14 catches for 223 yards.

The Eagles took down Jefferson County 45-12 last week, the largest margin of any game. Moore in the win.
