Volleyball Recap: Cypress Bay Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

Cypress Bay entered their tilt with Western on Wednesday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. Everything went their way against the Western Wildcats as they made off with a 3-0 victory. This was payback for the Lightning, who suffered a 3-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Cypress Bay walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-20, 25-21.

Cypress Bay's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alejandro Navarro led the charge by getting 18 assists and five digs. Navarro is crushing it when it comes to assists: he's posted at least 18 every time he's taken the court this season.

Cypress Bay was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Ian Bristol and Dexter Spears certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Bristol had 26 digs, while Spears had seven digs and one block. That's the most digs Bristol has posted since back in April of 2024.
