Basketball Recap: Bridgeport Takes a Loss

After flying high against Hundred last Saturday, Bridgeport came back down to earth. The Bridgeport Bulldogs were beaten by the Toronto Red Knights 58-24 on Monday. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Red Knights recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Toronto's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tatum Derrington, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jayna Reeves, who went 7 of 14 on her way to 19 points and four steals.

Bridgeport's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Toronto, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-8.

When Bridgeport and Toronto next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Bridgeport will challenge Frontier and their five-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Toronto will try to stop Wellsville's three-game winning streak when the meet at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
