Basketball Recap: Cypress Ranch Victorious

Cypress Ranch won the last time they faced North Shore and things went their way on Friday too. It was close, but the Cypress Ranch Mustangs capped 2024 with a 50-48 win over the North Shore Mustangs.

Despite the loss, North Shore saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Sean Mayberry went 8 of 13 on his way to 19 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Mayberry a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Da'Marcus Sloan, who posted nine points.

Cypress Ranch's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for North Shore, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-9.

Cypress Ranch didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 52-47 win against Pasadena Memorial on the 28th. As for North Shore, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 58-31 victory against Dekaney on the 28th.
