Basketball Recap: Red Mountain Beats Mesa for Their Fifth Straight Victory

Mesa typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Red Mountain proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Mesa Jackrabbits by a score of 70-63. The win was familiar territory for the Mountain Lions, who have now won five contests in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Red Mountain to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gage Lindsey, who went 13-for-18 en route to 28 points and seven rebounds. The match was Lindsey's third in a row with at least 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Travon Darby, who went 8-for-11 to rack up 22 points.

Several Jackrabbits players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jakyi Miles, who went 6-for-10 from beyond the arc on his way to 26 points and five boards. Miles continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Jarren Galarza was another key player, going 7-for-14 en route to 17 points.

Red Mountain's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-5. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 36.9% in those games and 29.5% outside of them. As for Mesa, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-6.

Red Mountain wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 64-24 win against Westwood on the 12th. As for Mesa, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-64 loss against Mountain View on the 13th.
