Mountain View (Bend, Ore.) lost to
Sprague (Salem, Ore.), 35-14.
After trailing 9-7 at the half, the Cougars went ahead on a touchdown run by
Kyler Ayers with 8:00 left in the third. Sprague finally took the lead for good as it threw a touchdown with 3:00 to go in the third quarter.
SHS saw its 2-point halftime lead fall to one entering the fourth.
Mountain View's Ayers was the standout player for his team. The senior running back ran for one touchdown.
With the win the Salem school extended its winning streak to three games.
Mountain View (1-2) goes up against McNary in a non-conference game matchup next week, while Sprague (3-0) locks horns with West Salem in a 6A Central Valley game.
