Recap: Western Beaver Golden Beavers vs. Mohawk Area Warriors
After a string of four wins, The Western Beaver Golden Beavers''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 31-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mohawk Area. Western Beaver lost against Mohawk Area in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 22-6 score last time.
Mohawk Area's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Justin Boston, who rushed for 184 yards and a touchdown. Jay Wrona was another key contributor, throwing for 94 yards and two touchdowns.
Western Beaver's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Mohawk Area, their victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-1.
Western Beaver will take on Beaver Falls at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Pennsylvania (Beaver Falls is ranked 257th, while Western Beaver is ranked 266th). As for Mohawk Area, they will head out on the road to face off against Neshannock at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Neshannock's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last four matchups.
