Soccer Recap: Grand Saline Takes a Loss

After flying high against Brownsboro last Friday, Grand Saline came back down to earth. The Grand Saline Indians lost 13-0 to the Athens Hornets on Tuesday. The Indians have struggled against the Hornets recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Grand Saline's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5-1. As for Athens, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grand Saline will welcome Cumberland Academy at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Grand Saline is facing Cumberland Academy at the right time seeing as Cumberland Academy is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Athens, they will look to defend their home pitch on Friday against Bullard at 7:00 p.m.
