After a string of four wins, Jacksonville's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 76-68 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Havelock Rams. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Wednesday (58), the Cardinals still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Jacksonville still got an impressive performance from Tafari Martin, who went 9 for 18 en route to 26 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Ra-Shawn Echols was another key player, going 7 of 16 on his way to 16 points and six boards.

Jaylen Hewitt was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 19 rebounds for Havelock. Hewitt is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Chris Strong, who went 7 for 16 en route to 16 points and eight boards.

Jacksonville's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Havelock, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-6.

Jacksonville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 79-70 defeat against New Bern on the 5th. As for Havelock, they are taking a road trip to take on South Central at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Havelock is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.3 points per game this season.
