Recap: Trego Golden Eagles vs. Phillipsburg Panthers

It was a good run, but the Trego Golden Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 35-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of Phillipsburg. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Trego has scored all season.

Several Golden Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Reece Smith, who scored 11 points along with three steals. Avery Ziegler was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.

Trego struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Trego's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Phillipsburg, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.

Trego will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Plainville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Phillipsburg, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Hoisington at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Hoisington focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 last Friday.
