Plainfield South is a perfect 5-0 against Joliet Central since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Cougars will head out to face off against the Steelmen at 5:30 p.m. Plainfield South will be strutting in after a victory while Joliet Central will be coming in after a defeat.

Plainfield South will bounce into Wednesday's match after beating Lockport, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. The Cougars walked away with a 2-0 win over the Porters on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Plainfield South never let Lockport on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Joliet Central didn't have quite enough to beat Oswego East on Tuesday and fell 2-1. The Steelmen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Joliet Central sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 24-26, 25-20.

Plainfield South's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-8. As for Joliet Central, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13.

Plainfield South came out on top in a nail-biter against Joliet Central when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Steelmen have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
