Recap: North Olmsted Eagles vs. Normandy Invaders
The North Olmsted Eagles came into Monday's matchup having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They snuck past Normandy with a 44-40 win on Monday. For North Olmsted, this counts as revenge for the 60-39 loss Normandy walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2022.
It was another big night for Mia Donald, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Julia Tahsin, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Normandy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Izzy Akin. Despite the final result, she scored six points along with 23 rebounds and two steals. Akin has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last five times she's played. Ziley Minich was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
North Olmsted now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Normandy, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.
North Olmsted will head out on the road to face off against Buckeye at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Buckeye is on a seven-game streak of home losses, North Olmsted a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Normandy will take on Bay at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
