While Union Pines's win against Hoke County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Union Pines Vikings narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Hoke County Bucks 1-0. The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Bucks: they've now won six in a row.

The result came thanks to Allie Bauer's shutout, as she gave up just seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Union Pines' victory was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Trinity Whitt, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Union Pines' record is now 4-5. As for Hoke County, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Union Pines will venture away from home to face off against Southern Alamance at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Union Pines is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Hoke County, they will head out to challenge St. Pauls at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Pauls has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.86 runs per game on average), something Hoke County will no doubt try to take advantage of.
