Baseball Recap: Minco Bulldogs vs. Wynnewood Savages
Minco lost against Wynnewood back in April of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Minco Bulldogs took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wynnewood Savages. Minco has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Minco saw one different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sebastian Valdez, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.
On Wynnewood's side, Caden Knighten made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 16 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off two hits. Knighten was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Cole Beasley was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Aidan Bailey was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Minco's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Wynnewood, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Minco will take on Cashion at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cashion's pitching crew has only allowed 1.9 runs per game this season, so Minco's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
