The Sequoia Ravens will challenge the Burlingame Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sequoia is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Sequoia came out on top against Monte Vista Christian on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Ravens sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over the Mustangs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Ravens have posted since February 28th.
Morgan Winfield was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Burlingame, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They never let Saint Mary's get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory on Saturday. Burlingame not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since February 24th (when they won 11-0).
Bryce Cone got the start for Burlingame and what a start it was: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 5.2 innings pitched.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mark O'Grady, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Berryman, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.
Burlingame's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Sequoia, their victory bumped their record up to 11-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Sequoia has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Burlingame struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
