Softball Recap: Sebastopol Gets the Win

It was a proper cat-fight when Sebastopol took on Columbia on Saturday. The Bobcats skirted past the Wildcats 17-15. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bobcats have posted since March 25th.

The team relied heavily on Marlee Smith, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and two RBI. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Hanna Boleware was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-5.

Sebastopol hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive matches.

Sebastopol's victory bumped their record up to 20-4. As for Columbia, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-11.

Coming up, Sebastopol will square off against Taylorsville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Columbia, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 10-5 win against Southeast Lauderdale on the 12th.
