Preview: Hickory Hornets vs. Grove City Eagles
The Hickory Hornets will be playing at home against the Grove City Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hickory will stroll in with a six game home winning streak (dating back to last season), but they should still watch out: the last time they lost at home was their February 3 matchup with Grove City.
Even though Farrell scored an imposing 57 points last Wednesday, Hickory still came out on top. Hickory managed a 61-57 victory over Farrell. Given Hickory's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while Farrell is ranked 253rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Even though Grove City has not done well against Meadville recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Grove City came out on top against Meadville by a score of 57-47. The win made it back-to-back wins for Grove City.
Hickory has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. As for Grove City, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.
