Volleyball Recap: Wilber-Clatonia Wolverines vs. Tri County Trojans
Wilber-Clatonia extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 8-18. They came up short against the Tri County Trojans, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolverines of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.
Haleah Schuerman paced Wilber-Clatonia's offense, picking up 13 kills. Schuerman got some help from Kaylie Fritz and her seven assists.
As for Tri County, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-10 record this season. They not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 11th (when they won 3-0).
Tri County can attribute much of their success to Kenzi Scherling, who had 14 digs and one assist. Those 14 digs gave Scherling a new career-high. Emily Wood also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.
Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Wilber-Clatonia and Fairbury will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another on the 21st. As for Tri County, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Freeman at 7:00 p.m.
