Volleyball Recap: Lewisburg Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Lewisburg couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Madison Central Jaguars by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jaguars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Lewisburg actually scored more points across those five sets (97-96), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 23-25, 8-25, 25-14, 15-13.

Despite the loss, Lewisburg still got an impressive performance from Laney Wier, who had 27 digs and seven assists. Wier has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last eight times she's played.

Lewisburg's defeat dropped their record down to 28-11. As for Madison Central, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 28-10.

Lewisburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Madison Central, they have already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Ocean Springs on the 16th.
