Softball Recap: Framingham Takes Down Revere in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Framingham rose to the challenge on Sunday. They put the hurt on the Revere Patriots with a sharp 9-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Flyers.

Shelby Kiklis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Chloe Nestor was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and one double while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Lally, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Framingham was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Framingham's victory bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Revere, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-8.

Coming up, Framingham will face off against King Philip Regional on Monday. The Warriors' pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so the Flyers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Revere does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
