Softball Game Preview: Interlake Saints vs. Renton Red Hawks

The Interlake Saints will head out to challenge the Renton Red Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Interlake knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Renton likes a good challenge.

Interlake is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 20-9 margin over Highline on Wednesday. That's two games straight that the Saints have won by exactly 11 runs.

Interlake let Vedika Jagtap and Dorah Wang run wild. Jagtap went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple, while Wang went 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those three RBI gave Jagtap a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacky Jimenez, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Interlake always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Renton came up short against Lindbergh on Wednesday, falling 28-1.

Renton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mayliahna Pitoau, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Renton dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Interlake, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Everything went Interlake's way against Renton when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Interlake made off with a 24-5 win. Will Interlake repeat their success, or does Renton has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
