The Sports Leadership & Management Bulls will head out to take on the Virgin Valley Bulldogs at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
The home team had come away the winner the last five times Sports Leadership & Management and Moapa Valley had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. Sports Leadership & Management took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Moapa Valley on Wednesday. The Bulls haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Audric Gregorio was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits. He also tossed two walks, which is notable because Sports Leadership & Management is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 1-2 otherwise. Gregorio was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Alexander Huerta was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Gabe Ripley, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Virgin Valley had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Cowboys as they made off with an 18-1 victory. That looming 18-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bulldogs yet this season.
Like Sports Leadership & Management, Virgin Valley also got a great game from a two-way player: Daxton Noel. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Noel was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He also got a hit, marking his first of the season.
In other batting news, Virgin Valley got a massive performance out of Mason Montoya, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that Montoya launched this season. Jordan Goodsell was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.
Virgin Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Virgin Valley pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.9 runs. As for Sports Leadership & Management, the loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 3-3.
Sports Leadership & Management suffered a grim 16-0 defeat to Virgin Valley in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Sports Leadership & Management avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
