Basketball Recap: St. Patrick's Takes a Loss

St. Patrick lost against Bridgeport back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The St. Patrick's Irish took a blow against the Bridgeport Bulldogs, falling 57-22. The Irish were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-8.

Reese Fleck was St. Patrick's leading scorer, having posted nine points. Cara Roberg held things down on the boards with nine rebounds.

Tacey From was a one-woman wrecking crew for Bridgeport as she went 10 for 18 on her way to 21 points in addition to eight boards and seven steals. From is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Brown, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 14 points and eight steals.

St. Patrick's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Bridgeport, their victory was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

St. Patrick's wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 41-24 loss against Kearney Catholic on the 10th. As for Bridgeport, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 83-72 win against Gering on the 10th.
