Basketball Recap: Clark Gets the Win

On Tuesday, the Clark Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 49-47 win over the Phillips Wildcats.

Clark has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.2 points per game. As for Phillips, their loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-8.

Clark and Phillips could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. Clark (ranked 232nd) will meet Curie (ranked 31st) at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Phillips will challenge Kenwood at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday down 145 places (150 vs. 5).
