Baseball Recap: Williamsfield Comes Up Short on the Road Against Illini Bluffs

Williamsfield kicked off their season on the road on Monday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Illini Bluffs Tigers by a score of 3-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the COUGARS of the 15-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2022.

Illini Bluffs' victory bumped their record up to 5-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Williamsfield will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Dunlap at 4:30 p.m. on May 2. As for Illini Bluffs, they will head out to square off against Brimfield at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Indians have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season.
