Millard West is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nebraska's top teams: Elkhorn South, who was ranked 23rd at the time (Millard West was ranked 12th). The Wildcats put the hurt on the Storm with a sharp 5-2 win on Monday. That looming 5-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Millard West yet this season.

They hit Elkhorn South with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Roman DiDomenico (2), Armani Dircio, Derek Johnson, and Carter Guthrie.

Meanwhile, Buena Vista had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Their defense stepped up to hand Westview a 2-0 shutout on Wednesday. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Buena Vista were the better team in the second half.

Millard West pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored nine goals over those three games. As for Buena Vista, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-6.
