Softball Game Preview: Port Jervis Raiders vs. Minisink Valley Warriors

Port Jervis has won seven straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Minisink Valley has won seven straight on the road also dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Raiders will welcome the Warriors at 11:00 a.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Port Jervis' pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Liberty with a sharp 12-0 victory. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Minisink Valley sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over Warwick on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warriors have posted against the Wildcats since April 12, 2018.

Emily Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.
