Baseball Game Preview: King Philip Regional Warriors vs. North Attleborough Rocketeers

The King Philip Regional Warriors will venture away from home to take on the North Attleborough Rocketeers at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. King Philip Regional will come into the match with an undefeated record on the line.

King Philip Regional's hitters will try to repeat the strong performance they gave on Wednesday, when they got past Walpole's usually-dominant pitching crew. The Warriors blew past the Timberwolves 12-4. With that win, the Warriors brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

Ryan Higgins tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, Vinny Menendez was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Johnny Prater, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

King Philip Regional kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, North Attleborough earned an 8-3 victory over Natick on Thursday.

North Attleborough pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for King Philip Regional, their record is now 10-0.

Everything went King Philip Regional's way against North Attleborough in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as King Philip Regional made off with a 6-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
