Softball Game Preview: Trenton Trojans vs. Woodhaven Warriors

The Trenton Trojans will head out to face off against the Woodhaven Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Monday, Trenton came up short against Carlson and fell 7-3. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Analy Guth made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Woodhaven). They put the hurt on Lincoln Park with a sharp 19-4 win on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won 14 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Alyvia Mondon was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Isabella Kordie was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

Woodhaven hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive matchups.

Woodhaven is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Trenton, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-5.

Trenton suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Woodhaven in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
