Recap: Canterbury Cougars vs. Bishop Verot Vikings
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Canterbury Cougars, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were outmatched by the Vikings on the road and fell 53-16. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Canterbury has scored all season.
Bishop Verot got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Leroy Roker out in front who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Gavin Williams was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Canterbury has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season. As for Bishop Verot, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 21-5.
Canterbury does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bishop Verot, they will head out on the road to square off against First Baptist Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. First Baptist Academy is coming into the game with eight straight victories at home, meaning Bishop Verot will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory.
