Basketball Recap: Nation Ford's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

Nation Ford lost against Indian Land back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Nation Ford Falcons received a blow as they fell 73-55 to the Indian Land Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 55th, while the Warriors are ranked seventh).

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chase Walters, who went 6 of 15 on his way to 20 points. Walters continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Pryer, who posted 14 points.

It was another big night for Michael Jones, who went 11 of 17 on his way to 34 points along with five boards and three steals for Indian Land. Jones' evening made it 21 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Jayden Williams was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.

Nation Ford moved to 7-7 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak. As for Indian Land, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-1.

Nation Ford will venture away from home to challenge Rock Hill at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Nation Ford is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.7 points per game this season. As for Indian Land, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Catawba Ridge at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday.
