Softball Preview: Bowling Green Purples vs. Adair County Indians
The Bowling Green Purples will take on the Adair County Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
On Thursday, Bowling Green came up short against Franklin-Simpson and fell 8-3. The Purples haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Adair County). They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over Metcalfe County on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now won four in a row.
Jade Waggner made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gracie Gist, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
