Basketball Recap: Walkertown Drops Season-High Score on Morehead

Walkertown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 29th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Morehead Panthers, falling 64-43. One positive for the Wolfpack, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Destiny Minter was her usual excellent self, putting up 24 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals for Morehead. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which Minter has scored at least a third of Morehead's points. Another player making a difference was Anahi Morales, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards.

Walkertown's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Morehead, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 3-15.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Walkertown will take on T.W. Andrews at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. T.W. Andrews is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66.4 points per game this season. As for Morehead, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Reidsville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
