Softball Recap: Colonial Beach Comes Up Short

Colonial Beach was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 19-2 to the Fredericksburg Christian Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-0 last Tuesday.

Colonial Beach saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Miranda Papanicolas, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That double was Papanicolas' first of the season.

Colonial Beach's record is now 2-4. As for Fredericksburg Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Colonial Beach will face off against West Point at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Fredericksburg Christian, they will challenge Saint John Paul the Great Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
