Baseball Recap: Bayou Academy Find Success

After only two runs in their last matchup, Bayou Academy made sure to put some runs up on the board against Washington on Tuesday. The Bayou Academy Colts came out on top in a nail-biter against the Washington Generals, sneaking past 14-13. The Colts haven't had any issues with the Generals recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Bayou Academy let Bo Linkous and John Howard Gilbert loose on the outfield. Linkous scored three runs while going 3-for-4, while Gilbert went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three runs gave Linkous a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Case Chacon, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Bayou Academy now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Washington, their loss was their first of the season and also makes their record 2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bayou Academy will head out to square off against Hartfield Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Washington, they will head out on the road to take on Indianola Academy at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
