Baseball Recap: Platte Valley's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Platte Valley walked away with it. They came out on top against the Dayspring Christian Academy Eagles by a score of 4-1 on Friday. The win was familiar territory for the Broncos, who have now won four matchups in a row.

Hazen Weber spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Cooper Moffatt was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Hudson Flummerfelt was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

Platte Valley's victory bumped their record up to 17-9. As for Dayspring Christian Academy, with the loss, they broke their 11-game winning streak and moved their record to 21-4.

Platte Valley has already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Fowler on the 23rd. As for Dayspring Christian Academy, they will face off against Denver Christian at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
