Football Recap: Strong Effort on D from Andrew Perry and Ian Crockett Leads Goodpasture Christian over Grace Christian Academy

Goodpasture Christian's game two weeks ago was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They took down the Grace Christian Academy Lions 24-7. The score was all tied up 7-7 at the break, but the Cougars were the (much) better team in the second half.

Caden Stroud produced another solid effort rushing for 155 yards and two TDs.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Goodpasture Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 206 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Grace Christian Academy only rushed for 27.

Goodpasture Christian's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Grace Christian Academy, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Goodpasture Christian will host Battle Ground Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests. As for Grace Christian Academy, they will welcome Franklin Road Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
