Football Recap: Andrew Perry and Ian Crockett Lead the Defense for Goodpasture Christian Win

Goodpasture Christian's game two weeks ago was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 24-7 victory over the Grace Christian Academy Lions. The score was all tied up 7-7 at the break, but the Cougars were the (much) better team in the second half.

Caden Stroud had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 155 yards and a pair of TDs.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Goodpasture Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 206 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Grace Christian Academy only rushed for 27.

Goodpasture Christian's record is now 6-2. As for Grace Christian Academy, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.

Goodpasture Christian and Grace Christian Academy could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings. The Cougars (ranked 78th) will meet Battle Ground Academy (ranked ninth) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Grace Christian Academy will square off against Franklin Road Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (66 vs. 17).
