Soccer Game Preview: Parma vs. Fruitland

The Parma Panthers will head out to square off against the Fruitland Grizzlies at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Parma is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.

If Parma beats Fruitland with three goals on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Panthers walked away with a 3-1 win over Payette on Thursday.

Parma hit the Pirates with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Ian Alvarez, Nathan Compas, and Jadon Rumpel.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last match, Fruitland made sure to put some goals up on the board against Four Rivers on Thursday. They blew past the Falcons 5-2. With that victory, Fruitland brought their scoring average up to 2.5 goals per game.

Fruitland was without their leading scorer, Zeke Van Hofwegen, in Thursday's contest. With Van Hofwegen sitting this one out, Orlando Gonzalez got some extra time on the pitch (60 vs. his season average of 38).

Parma's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Fruitland, their victory bumped their record up to 5-7-1.

Parma beat Fruitland 5-3 in their previous meeting back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
